PURPOSE

The Business Development Manager’s (BDM) primary function is to generate new business in terms of the company’s strategic and operational objectives.

 The company needs to expand the resources dedicated to business development and as such the BDM will work closely with and report to the CEO with a specific focus on creating new partnerships and attracting new business and revenue through such partnerships.  Over time it is anticipated that the BDM will assume a greater share of these related activities allowing the CEO to focus elsewhere on the business.  

LOCATION

Home base will be the company’s head office in Bristol. It is expected that the BDM will work out of the office for the majority of the time travelling across the South West and potentially further afield in the UK. Some overnight travel is likely.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We anticipate applicants will:

  • Have proven sales experience preferably in the professional services or related sector.

  • Be fully familiar with and competent in the use of industry-recognised sales processes and techniques.

  • Demonstrate a strong record of maintaining effective client relationships.

  • Be effective planners and well organised.

  • Have some level of knowledge of and familiarity with equity crowdfunding.

  • Have some awareness of the startup and entrepreneur space.

PERSONAL QUALITIES

The successful applicant will be:

  • Self motivated with a can-do attitude and able to carry out duties with only minimal direction and supervision.

  • Outcome focused.

  • A fast learner.

  • Comfortable with taking initiative and making decisions in accordance with allocated and assumed authority.

  • Able to work under periods of high activity and time demands.

  • Able to relate well to people of all levels with various backgrounds, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

  • An effective communicator, written and verbal.

  • Fully competent with standard office software.

REMUNERATION

We offer an attractive base salary, which will be reviewed after six months, along with a performance bonus scheme. For the right person there may be a future opportunity to participate in a company profit share scheme.

We will agree with the BDM sales and revenue targets against which performance will be reviewed.

Travel and other expenses as applicable to a role of this nature will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
